Promoting Safety Throughout Our Oaks Senior Living Communities

Our senior living communities in Georgia are doing everything they can to promote safety and limit the spread of COVID-19. In order to highlight these efforts, we are sharing the ways that our team is promoting safety and putting the health and wellness of community members first.

At Oaks Senior Living, the health and safety of residents, our team members, and their families is our highest priority. Throughout the global COVID-19 pandemic, we have been implementing new protocols and safety measures to help ensure the health and wellness of all members in our communities.

Through social distancing, wearing masks, increased cleaning and sanitizing, implementing new safety technology, and hosting clinics to administer the COVID-19 vaccine, our senior living communities in Georgia are doing everything they can to promote safety and limit the spread of COVID-19. In order to highlight these efforts, we are sharing the ways that our team is promoting safety and putting the health and wellness of community members first.

Proper Use of Personal Protective Equipment

Facial coverings and masks have been a significant part of preventing the spread of COVID-19 in our society as a whole, but this is also true within Oaks Senior Living. Throughout all of our senior living communities in Georgia, we have implemented the proper use of personal protective equipment according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Each of our team members utilizes both face masks and face shields to promote the health and safety of residents and their families.

Sanitation Stations

Increased cleaning and sanitizing techniques have been crucial in keeping the members of our communities safe. To make this process easier, we have placed sanitation stations throughout our communities. Each of these stations provides easy access and convenience to residents and team members alike so they can sanitize their hands and clean commonly touched surfaces, providing a cleaner, healthier environment.

Regular COVID-19 Testing

At each of our senior living communities in Georgia, we are following screening protocols and conducting regular testing for COVID-19. By doing so, we are able to monitor the outbreak of the virus within our communities and take appropriate measures if someone in one of our communities does test positive for COVID-19.

Implementing Global Plasma Air Purification Systems

Global Plasma Solutions uses ionization to purify the air in any given space. This technology uses an electric charge to create a plasma field that is highly concentrated with both positive and negative ions, which attach to particles, pathogens, and gas molecules as they make their way through the air. The ions make the particles filterable by attaching to these harmful particles and killing pathogens or breaking them down into harmless compounds.

The Global Plasma air purification system reduces particles, kills pathogens, neutralizes odors, and destroys VOCs, including particles of the COVID-19 virus. At Oaks Senior Living, we have installed these systems to clean the air in common areas throughout our senior living communities in Georgia, helping us ensure and further promote health and safety.

Installing SafeHug Windows

Human contact and connection are essential to overall health and wellness. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, visitations to our communities have been restricted, and we’ve taken steps to promote virtual connections, but we know these are not the same as seeing one another face-to-face.

To enable residents and their family members to safely connect in person again, Oaks Senior Living communities have installed SafeHug Windows. These windows allow residents and their loved ones to hear, touch, and see one another while still maintaining their safety.

COVID-19 Vaccinated Communities

Since the initial outbreak of the virus, many of us have been waiting for a vaccine to move us forward. While the vaccine is here, it is in high demand with an extremely limited supply. Fortunately, Oaks Senior Living communities were among the first on the list in Georgia to receive the vaccine and are hosting clinics to administer both the first and second dose to residents and team members.

Read our blog, “Why is the COVID-19 Vaccine Important to Stop the Spread of the Virus?” to learn more about the COVID-19 vaccine distribution within our communities.

We are doing everything we can to keep residents, their families, and our team members throughout each of our senior living communities in Georgia safe and healthy.
