Lisa Ann Miner
Executive Director
Lisa Ann Miner was born in the small city of Portland, Maine where she attended Portland High School and graduated from Andover College with a degree in Computer Science. She was raised as an only child by her grandmother. In 1984, Lisa married her high school sweetheart, Buddy. They share four amazing daughters ranging in age from 22 to 34 years. They also have three young grandchildren and are enjoying the treasure of being grandparents.
Lisa was introduced to senior living in 2007 when she began working in a private practice that visited senior living communities. After this introduction, she knew that senior living was the path God was calling her to. Because of her strong faith and belief that God is her Savior and Leader, Lisa was quick to trust that serving seniors was the intended path for her life. Since this introduction, she has been in senior living for 12 years. Lisa is a Certified Dementia Practitioner, Licensed Personal Care Home Administrator, and a Licensed Assisted Living Home Administrator.
One of her biggest life lessons came from a brief conversation with an amazing woman that lived in a memory care neighborhood. As they were walking together, the resident asked, “Have we met before?” Lisa replied, “A time or two” and as they continued to walk, the resident asked, “Are you sure we know one another?” Lisa replied, “I believe we do.” The resident paused and said, “Well I am not sure we do, but I do feel safe with you, so I guess we’re okay.” For Lisa, it was at that moment she recognized it may not be the face that residents recognize, but rather, it’s the feeling of comfort and acceptance we bring them when we are in their presence. “This moment was truly an overwhelming realization of the value we can bring as we serve our residents.”
When Lisa is not spending time with her residents, you can find her on a pleasant run through her local neighborhood or park. She also enjoys knitting, reading, traveling, and spending quality time with her friends and families.
