Meet the team at Oaks at Savannah

Executive Director

Tamika Gadson was born in Savannah, GA and grew up in St. Petersburg, Florida. Tamika’s experience with senior care started at a young age when she would accompany her grandmother, who was a licensed practical nurse, to work. She remembers so clearly watching her grandmother serve and care for her beloved residents. At the time, Tamika recalls telling her grandmother that she would never do that kind of work, but as life went on, she began to see the value in serving seniors and decided to pursue a career in senior care.

Tamika has been a part of the Oaks family since 2016. She started as Dietary Aide and quickly progressed to become a Cook. After mastering those two positions, Tamika became a Care Partner and then was promoted to a Concierge position. In January of 2018, Tamika became Business Office Manager where she stayed until her promotion to her current position of Executive Director. Before working in senior care, Tamika worked for15 years in the hospitality field as General Manager, Front Desk Manager, Night Auditor and in Sales/Marketing.

The greatest joy in Tamika’s life are her three children. She has a son, Nehemiah, and two daughters, Azriah and Lauryen. Outside of spending time with her three kids, Tamika’s hobbies include cooking, listening to audio books, and working out.

Tamika allows her core values of love, loyalty, dedication, and hard work to inspire her day-to-day commitment to the Oaks at Savannah. She loves working with the elderly, listening to their stories, and their words of wisdom. To Tamika, the greatest reward for her work is simply seeing the smiles on the residents faces that she so deeply loves and cares for.
